International Thanksgiving April 7,2012 7am, Apalit, Pampanga
It’s the third and last day of the 3 day Thanksgiving of the Members of the Church of God International. But 3 days is still not enough to be thankful because of God’s goodness to all of us. One of the things we are thankful is the wisdom that we have learned in the first two days of the celebration. We are also thankful that in the past 3 months that have passed, 5000+ members were added to the congregation. Personally, I am thankful because despite the hardships and difficulties, Me and wife is still together serving in our smallest way that God permits us to do.
Most of all, the whole congregation is thankful for another year given to Bro Eli Soriano. 48 years have passed and still Bro Eli, with the help and mercy of God, is still faithfully serving God and his fellow men. We are thankful to God for taking care of our preacher even he is far away from most of us. The brethren all over the world, through the leadership of Bro Daniel Razon, greeted Bro Eli as the sun set on the second day of Thanksgiving.
It is really a beautiful day together with all the brethren in the Church. A beautiful day to offer the sacrifice of Thanksgiving. A beautiful day given by God most specially to our preacher. Thanks be to God for giving Bro Eli another year in his life.
Happy International Thanksgiving to all brethren all over the world!
Happy Birthday in Christ Bro Eli! May God keep you always!
Public Servants + Singers + Celebrities + Basketball + Charity = Free Education
This is what you get when you gather these on one night at a basketball court for the free education of La Verdad Christian College. Held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last March 19, 2012, it was supported by several big names in both the political and entertainment world. Of course, this was spearheaded by Bro Eli Soriano and Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon.
The event started with the SING portion. Luke Mijares’ upbeat performance got the crowd going while Nyoy Volante’s soulful voice slowed things down. Hammilan was also there and sang Faithlly by Journey. UNTV News anchors and Natalia Moon participated as well.
Then after the SING was the much awaited SHOOT portion. Celerities team was coached by veteran actor Philip Salvador while public servants were mentored by PBA legend Philip Cesar. At first, the public servants team took a commanding lead in the first quarter. Slowly but surely the celebrities caught up. In the end, the celebrities defeated the public servants team.
Bro Eli Soriano also participated. During the halftime break, he gave his message and the reason why he and kuya Daniel put up the event. He emphasize the importance of education to the youth.
The night was ended by another performance from an unknown and poor performer, Mr. Jimmy. He is an old performer dreaming to sing in front of the pubic once again. Kuya Daniel gave him that chance and Mr. Jimmy was applauded by the people once again.
It was a fun night especially if you know the reason behind this event. I am excited for the next of project Bro Eli and Kuya Daniel. Dreams are fulfilled not only for the scholars but also for people like Mr. Jimmy. Thanks be to God for the successful event!

In the heart of the small municipality of Morong, Bataan is the Morong Star Beach Resort. It is a 4 hours drive from Manila (Philippine capital). Although a tiring travel, it is worth it. The water is clear. The people are accommodating. The foods are delicious. Everything is good there. Morong Star also boasts its Adventure Park that has obstacle courses and a mini zip line for adventurous people (don’t worry it is safe there, even a kid can finish the course). It also has a mini zoo that has ostriches, pigs, birds, cows, and goats. They also have a longer zip line that goes from the beach all the way to the middle of the sea. Kayaks can be rented as well. It was a fun experience to be there. I recommend this place for those who wants to explore the beauty of Bataan. Here are some photos I have taken for everyone to see the place.
What is driving school for if you can learn how to drive with just a token? Well actually, it took two tokens and yet my wife ended last in the race. After a stressful week, me and my wife ended up playing in Tom’s World arcade. We raced even though it is my wife’s first time driving in arcade. Just as Bro Eli Soriano always advise married couples in the Church, always have quality time with each other. We don’t have many time to spend because of our work and other responsibilities, thank God for this fun time we have spent together. Also, thank you SEGA for giving my wife a brief driving lesson.
One of the first things that Bro Eli Soriano and Bro Daniel Razon tell newly-baptized brethren in Members of the Church of God International is to ask God to teach us how to count the number of days in our lives. It is stated in Psalms 90:12 (KJV)
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Bro Eli taught us that we should know how to count the days we are inside the flock. He shows us the importance of a day inside the Church compared to a thousand days outside. He read to us the verse in Psalms 84:10
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Today, February 4th of 2012, marks the 2556.75thth day of my wife inside the congregation. I thank God for giving my wife such number of days in His flock. These are the days that my wife has remained firmly with her faith with His help. 2556.75 days in the courts; days that I personally saw and felt the mercy and love of God for my wife.
May God continuously give my wife fruitful days inside the Church. Thank You for the days You have given my wife.
It was like a scene from a movie.
Just this morning, me and my wife witness a thief caught by a police. It was like an action scene from a movie. The police, wearing a civilian clothes, parked his motorcycle behind a bus. The bus was unloading passengers at that time. The police stood behind the bus, patiently waiting for the thief to strike. Then the police pulled out his gun from his jacket then ran and nabbed the thief. The thief was caught in the act. The brave police man pointed his gun to the thief, marking the end of the thief’s evildoing.
At first we got scared because the thief might run to our direction and a gun fight might start. Thank God for taking care of us, as well as the police and other civilians in the area. This is the second time that I saw the same incident (live!). The first was during my college days. I am thankful it did not get worse.
With what had happened, I suddenly recalled what Bro Eli Soriano taught us how a law officer should be. He said that authorities should be a terror or a threat to the evildoers as stated in Rom 13:3 (KJV)
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Good thing that in our times even though there are corrupt officials, there are still those that remain faithful to their sworn duties. I salute you, mister brave police man!
(NOTE: this is not the actual photo. This is a photo of the police forces I took when they joined a marathon for the benefits of Philippine education. See story here.)
Once again, Kuya (big brother in tagalog) Daniel Razon proved that any good deed will not yield bad results.
Kahit Isang Araw Lang Unity Run (Just One Day Unity Run) which was held on January 22, 2012 aims to provide computer laboratories to selected public schools in the Philippines. The unity run was organized in seven different points in the Philippines: 2 in Luzon, 3 in Visayas, and 2 in Mindanao. Not only that, despite the time zone differences, Unity Run was also held in different parts of the world. There are runners in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. This is a sign that everyone all over the world are ready to support the noble cause for our poor yet deserving students.
With God’s help, the event was successful. Not only in the number of registrations gathered but also it has earned enough for the DepEd’s (Department of Education) Adopt-a-School project. Runners also include our police force and different sectors of the Philippine Army, which only shows that they value education. Students from different levels and schools (both public and private) also participated. Check this link to see other runners all over the world.
Just for one day, The Philippines and other countries ran for the benefit of Filipino students. Just for one day, Daniel Razon’s advocacy has given everyone all over the world a chance to support the education sector. Just for one day, everybody from different government and private sectors was united for the improvement of public schools. Just for one day, the whole world ran for education!
All of this, with God’s help, Just for one day!
